Zaar Nations Gather to Pay Heartfelt Tribute to Barr Istifanus Bala Gambar, the First Garkuwa of the Zaar Nation
Yesterday been 10th February, 2024, the Zaar nations came together to honor the life and legacy of Barr Istifanus Bala Gambar, the First Garkuwa of the Zaar Nation. Notable Zaar people and personalities from all walks of life gathered at a solemn Tribute Night to pay their heartfelt tribute to this iconic leader who dedicated his life to the selfless service of the Zaar people and the struggle for their freedom and self-identity.
Among the distinguished Personalities present at the gathering were Prof. BB Bukar, Pst. Mike Sammako (Chairman of the ZDA Board of Trustees), Mr. Linus Jacob, Hon. Halima H. Thomas, and Rev. Markus Musa (Former CAN Chairman, Tafawa Balewa LGA). Each of them spoke passionately about the tremendous contributions of Barr Istifanus Bala Gambar to the Zaar nation and emphasized the need to continue his legacy.
Pst. Mike Sammako, in his tribute, expressed gratitude for the remarkable services Barr Istifanus Bala Gambar rendered to the Zaar people. He went on to advocate for a national burial for the late Garkuwa, stating that his impact and dedication deserved to be recognized at a national level. Pst. Sammako also emphasized that although Barr Istifanus Bala Gambar may no longer be with them in the physical form, his spirit and inspiration will continue to guide the Zaar people in their struggle for freedom and emancipation.
Prof. BB Bukar shed light on the legacies of the late Garkuwa, which included his instrumental role in the appointment of Gung Zaar, the establishment of a national secretariat, and the design of the Zaar national colors. Prof. BB Bukar also highlighted that Barr Istifanus Bala Gambar, despite being one of the richest people in Zaar Land, chose to identify with the Zaar struggle out of love for freedom and the emancipation of his kinsmen.
The Tribute Night was a solemn yet uplifting occasion where the Zaar community came together to celebrate the life and achievements of Barr Istifanus Bala Gambar. It was evident that his loss has left a deep void in the hearts of the Zaar people, but his memory will continue to inspire and motivate them in their pursuit of progress and self-identity.
The heartfelt tributes and acknowledgments from notable Zaar people and personalities serve as a testament to the immense impact that Barr Istifanus Bala Gambar had on the Zaar community. His dedication and selflessness will forever be cherished and serve as a guiding light for future generations of Zaar people.
